Livia Firth of Eco Age held an environmentally friendly competition open to designers from all over the globe to submit sketches of their ultimate dream eco dress. Although I did not win the overall competition it was nice to be mentioned for my efforts. My was design shared as a part of the final results-noted as one of the top favorite designs (top right corner).
I submitted a sketch of my original design, a flamenco inspired dress constructed of organic cotton lace in natural white. I kept the patterning simple to showcase the beautiful lace and to minimize fabric waste in the cutting process. Straight cut gathered ruffles with raw natural edges further conserve fabric and machine finishing.
Congratulations to the other designers, the ideas and sketches were very at a very high standard.
